Every 2 years a get a new jacket, usually Columbia. I donate the old one to charity. I'd been looking for a new jacket to replace my current Columbia without much success. Amazon actually suggested this based on my search history so I thought I give it a try.

So far I'm very happy with it. It seems to be warmer than my previous Columbia and has more pockets than I know what do to do with. I got a large to be sure the sleeves would be long enough. Instead of a nylon outer shell this jacket reminds me more like a Carhardt type material so it should wear very well.

So far I'm very pleased with this jacket and highly recommend it.

Fit: I am 5' 11" and 165 pounds and got the large. It's a bit too big in the body but the sleeves are a tad short and I'd like it longer in the body so I'm re-ordering it in large long. I will update this review once I receive the large long.

Quality: It's good Carhartt quality. It's a bit stiff and the zipper is so-so - I've had 3 Carhartt jackets and they could for sure improve their zippers. Their zippers seem beefy and durable but they don't work smoothly.

Shipping: Slow shipping from DUNGAREES. I ordered it on December 26 and received it on January 4.

Update: I received the large long and it's a better fit for me. The sleeves are not at all too long. The length does extend to cover up half of my butt which I don't mind. A medium long might work for my build as well but maybe wouldn't have room for layers underneath.

Let me start off with some information that may help folks with sizing. When reading all the reviews here and on other sites, there was no doubt this would be an excellent and durable jacket; however, the data points regarding size by height and weight were all over the place. Granted, there isn't a right answer for everyone regarding the appropriate fit of the jacket so I'll let you know what worked for me. I'm right at 6' 0" and weight generally stays around 170 and have a reasonably fit build. My torso and arms are a little longer than normal and typically, if I can find it, a medium tall fits me perfectly. However, many manufacturers don't start including tall sizes until you get into large size jackets and up. Also, I have several other Carhartt jackets and oddly enough I typically need to get a large or sometimes even an xl to fit my arms (sounds odd I know). Another data point - in suits or sport coats I typically wear a 41L.

So, I couldn't find anywhere locally that carried this exact jacket so I rolled the dice and ordered a large from Amazon knowing they have an awesome return policy. Well, as it turns out, I got lucky and the large fits me absolutely perfectly. Plenty of length in the arms and body but not too bulky. I could easily get a sweatshirt on under but its not like I'm swiming in the jacket. If I have one complaint it is that the arms are just a tad baggy but I'm positive if I had gotten a medium it would have been too short in the arms and body and possibly a little tight in the chest. The extra room in the arms doesn't really bother me and it doesn't look bad, just a little more bulk/room than I would prefer in a perfect world.

Overall, as it is clear in other reviews, this is an incredibly warm and durable jacket. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.
